Matt Phillips Guernsey Web-designer & Online Marketing

I am a Google certified professional with 25 years experience in website design, online marketing, logo design, branding and consultancy in both Business to Business and Business to Consumer environments.

 

After graduating with a First Class Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Photomedia from the University of Plymouth I returned to Guernsey in 1999 where I became the online media developer for Z-CARD®, an International marketing company. My role at Z-CARD® involved the redesign, production and deployment of the main zcard.com website as well as over 20 regional and language variations.

In 2004 I co-founded the e-commerce website RIP101.com which sold sports clothing, accessories and hardware. In addition to the design of the site, I also managed all digital marketing activities such as search engine optimisation, email marketing, pay per click advertising and affiliate marketing for the 10,000 SKUs.

In 2011 I was offered a position at allbeauty.com, one of the largest online beauty retailers in Europe; where my responsibilities included:

  • PPC: Management and development of all Google AdWords and BING paid search activity.
  • Google Shopping: Creation and management of Google Shopping activity in 5 countries.
  • Remarketing: Creation and management of all static and dynamic remarketing activity.
  • Affiliate Marketing: Managing a total of 4 Affiliate Programmes over 3 Networks.
  • Price Comparison Websites: Managing an inventory of 12,000 SKUs over 13 different PCWs.
  • Facebook Paid Advertising: Creating & delivering Facebook ads to custom and lookalike audiences.
  • Analytics: Using a variety of analytical packages and attribution models to scrutinise data.

In 2016 I joined Healthspan. I am currently the Senior Digital Marketing Manager, responsible for paid acquisition channel activity & the subsequent conversion of this traffic. Healthspan are the UK’s Number 1 Direct Supplier of Vitamins and Supplements with over 2 million customers.

Outside of work I enjoy keeping fit whether in the gym, running or spending time on the water. I am a keen surfer and have represented Guernsey at national level as well as competing for the University of Plymouth. I also enjoy snowboarding, wakeboarding and kitesurfing.
